Fusion FMD checks prescription medicine packs against the Irish National Medicines Verification System (IMVS, run by the IMVO) as the Falsified Medicines Directive requires. A pack's unique identifier (product code, serial number, batch and expiry) is scanned, sent to the National System with the operation the business needs (verify, supply, decommission or reactivate), and every answer is kept whole for audit.
There are two doors: Fusion Scan, the scanning app for tablets and phones, and the Portal, where you follow scans, responses, alerts and reports.
Open https://fusion-scan-capture.onrender.com/. After the Fusion splash you can choose Fusion Scan or Portal.
Your welcome email carries your username, a temporary password and a Set your password link that works for seven days. Use the link first: choose a password of at least eight characters that you do not use elsewhere. If the link has expired, sign in with the temporary password; the portal asks you to change it straight away.
You can change your password at any time from the user menu (your initial, top right) → Change password. Ask an administrator to reset it if you have forgotten it.
Sessions last twelve hours. Log out is in the same menu.
Every account has one of three roles. An administrator can also switch individual pages on or off for your account, so your sidebar may show fewer pages than the role lists.
On the tablet open https://fusion-scan-capture.onrender.com/scan in Chrome and choose Install app from the menu; the app then opens full-screen with its own icon and works without signal.
First use: an administrator sends you a device set-up link (Portal → Administration → Devices). Opening it on the tablet fills in the device name and the API key. Otherwise open Settings at the bottom of the app and enter the operator name and the API key you were given.Scanning: pick the action (for example Verify or Decommission), enter the delivery reference if you have one, point the camera at the 2D DataMatrix on the pack. A green flash confirms the read. Scans queue on the device and sync every few seconds; the counter shows what is still waiting.Scan the 2D DataMatrix, never the linear barcode. Do not scan UK packs or unlicensed medicines: since 1 January 2025 they always alert. Bulk or split packs are decommissioned once, at first opening.
Manual entry (typed identifiers) is available when a barcode cannot be read. Type exactly as printed: serial numbers are case-sensitive and the expiry is sent as YYMMDD.Every table has a filter box under each heading and sorts on click. Text size and reading width are in the user menu.
